Dreamliner passes testing milestone

The Boeing Co.'s 787 Dreamliner appears to be on the final approach to approval.

Officials say it has passed an initial airworthiness test and is now going through a final, Federal Aviation Administration-monitored exam.

Four of the new jetliners are being run through the rigors of mock airline service to determine how they will behave under all conditions.

Boeing has orders for 866 of the planes, the first of which will go to All Nippon Airlines later this year, if all goes according to schedule.
