A Kansas trucking firm has put in an order for more than 1,000 new, over-the-road trucks from Bellevue-based Paccar Inc.
At a list price of more than $100,000 each, the 1,050 Kenworth trucks ordered by Olathe, Kan.-based TransAm Trucking are worth more than $100 million.
The new trucks will be equipped with Paccar’s new MX 2010 engines. Those engines are being built at a new engine plant Paccar built in Mississippi. The trucks themselves will be built in the company’s Ohio plant.
Kenworth is a subsidiary of Bellevue’s Paccar. The new Paccar engines will be used both in Ken-worth and Peterbilt trucks. Peterbilt also is a Paccar company.
