Horizon Air and its pilots have entered contract mediation with the National Mediation Board.
The SeaTac-based regional airline’s pilots are represented by the Airline Professionals Association Teamsters Union Local 1224. The two sides have been in unsuccessful negotiations for four years to reach a contract settlement.
The union claims that because the airline’s financial results have improved in recent months, Horizon should drop its demands for pay and benefit concessions. The pilots have not received a pay raise since 2005, the union says.
