More than 84 percent of flights departed on time last month from Sea-Tac Airport, making it the most punctual of the nation's major airports.
Those new statistics from Flightstats.com put Sea-Tac in fifth place in the world. At the top of that list was Tokyo’s Haneda Airpot with a 94.9 percent of its flights departing on time.
Good weather in the Far West helped other airports’ on-time records in June. Two airports in a smaller size category, Oakland and Portland, beat Sea-Tac’s on-time record with 85.89 percent of flights departing on time at Oakland and 85.71 percent taking off on schedule in Portland. Vancouver (B.C.) International Airport also reported stellar results with an 83.4 percent on-time departure record.
At the bottom of the on-time ranking was Dallas-Fort Worth with just 48.83 percent of its flights leaving on time.
