Downtown site gets LEED 'gold'

The Washington State Employees Credit Union headquarters in downtown Olympia has been awarded a LEED "gold" rating by the U.S. Green Building Council. The credit union received the ranking for the building's energy-efficient design.

Among the “green” designs for the 123,570-square-foot building is a photometrics system that addresses light pollution, low-flow plumbing fixtures and drought-resistant plantings. The enhancements have helped the building use 40 percent less water, according to the credit union.
