A Providence St. Peter Hospital plan to add 21 more patient beds is back on again after the hospital delayed the plans because of the slower economy, a hospital spokeswoman said Friday.
Planning is under way again and construction is expected to start in November 2011 for a September 2012 completion date, spokeswoman Deborah Shawver said. The beds will be installed on the hospital’s second floor, which is occupied by administrative and accounting offices. The hospital also recently completed a renovation of its operating rooms and is about to finish an emergency room renovation, Shawver said.
Funding for the “multi-million dollar” patient bed project will come from the hospital operating budget, Providence Health & Services, Washington-Montana region and the Providence St. Peter Foundation .
