Three companies headquartered in Washington – Amazon. com, Coinstar and F5 Networks – have been named among the nation’s 100 fastest-growing companies by Fortune magazine in its Sept. 6 issue.
Internet retailer Amazon.com of Seattle was the highest Washington company on Fortune’s list at 30th. The retail giant was 52nd of Fortune’s 2009 list.
Coinstar of Bellevue was ranked 61st on the Fortune chart. The company’s Redbox, movie rental business has boomed in recent years, improving the fortunes of the company whose primary business has been coin-counting machines.
F5 Networks was ranked 64th. The Seattle-based technology company provides businesses with application network systems.
