Alaska, Horizon see uptick in passengers

Alaska Airlines posted a 10 percent passenger traffic increase last month. That August traffic rise helped bump up the SeaTac-based airline's traffic for 2010 by 9.1 percent, the airline said Friday.

Alaska’s regional sister carrier, Horizon Air, also saw a traffic increase last month. Traffic at Horizon rose by 2.2 percent.

On-time arrivals at Alaska rose to 88.7 percent last month compared with 85.7 percent in August 2009.
