OLYMPIA, Wash. – A report by Washington's Department of Revenue finds that over 75 percent of Boeing Co. employees make more than $30 an hour.
The department each year puts together a summary of filings that are required from aerospace companies that benefit from state tax incentives. The report for 2009 says 221 companies submitted reports, and that more than 77,000 people worked in the industry last year. Boeing employed about three-quarters of them.
The summary also finds that Boeing pays better - only 25 percent of employees at non-Boeing companies are paid more than $30 per hour.
