The Washington State Republican Party will hold its nominating convention in Tacoma in two years, bringing thousands of people to downtown Tacoma.
The party will host delegates and guests at the Greater Tacoma Convention and Trade Center, according to a news release Thursday from the center. This year’s convention in Vancouver drew more than 1,700 people. Organizers expect higher attendance two years from now because of the presidential election.
This will be the first state Republican Convention held in Pierce County in 25 years, the release said.
