Olympia's Percival Landing has made a list of 10 Great Public Spaces as recognized by the American Planning Association.

This year, the association recognized 30 public spaces in the categories of neighborhoods, streets and public spaces.

Percival Landing was built in 1978, with additions in 1985 and 1988. Part of the boardwalk was torn out this year as part of a massive reconstruction project to orient a path on land next to the waterfront, along with other improvements. It is set to open toward the end of next summer.
