The new Lacey-area WinCo Foods store at 7540 Martin Way E. is set to open at 9 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 7, a spokesman for the company said today.
In addition to the Lacey-area store, WinCo Foods also will open stores the same day in Everett and in Tracy, Calif., spokesman Mike Read said.
Also this month, WinCo mailed fliers to residents about job openings at the store. A new WinCo store typically generates 4,000 to 5,000 job applications for about 200 positions, Read said.
WinCo is an employee-owned company that got its start in Boise in 1967. When the Lacey store opens, it will be the company’s 76th store; the others are in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Utah, Nevada and California. Customers bag their own groceries at the stores.
