Aeroflot orders 16 Boeing planes

Russia's flag carrier, Aeroflot, has placed an order worth more than $4 billion at list prices for Boeing long-range airliners, the Moscow Times reports.

The order is split evenly between Boeing’s 777-200ER and 777-300ER at eight planes each, according to the newspaper.

The airline has ordered 22 of Boeing’s smaller 787 Dreamliners, but delays in that program has created a gap in the airline’s fleet for long-range jets.

The 777 is built in Boeing’s Everett factory.
