Seattle will become the headquarters city for its third cruise line this spring when luxury cruise line Seabourn Cruises moves its headquarters from Miami.
Seabourn will be housed in the same building as Seattle-based Holland America Cruise Lines. Both Seabourn and Holland America are owned by Miami’s Carnival Corp.
Some 50 workers will move to Seattle with Seabourn, which operates a fleet of six luxury cruise liners. The move will allow it to combine some operations with Holland America, saving Carnival about $25 million yearly.
The third Seattle-based cruise line is Windstar Cruise, which operates a fleet of sail-equipped cruising vessels.
Holland America employs 1,139 workers in the Puget Sound area.
