The Olympia-Lacey-Tumwater Visitor and Convention Bureau will host a two-day event this week, starting with a tour of Thurston County on Thursday, followed by a workshop on Friday.
Thursday’s tour is set for 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m., including stops at Batdorf & Bronson Coffee Roasters, the Olympia Farmers Market, The Evergreen State College’s organic farm and Lattin’s Country Cider Mill.
Friday’s workshop is set for 9 a.m.-3 p.m. in the expo building at the Thurston County Fairgrounds. The workshop will feature ag-tourism expert Judy Walden, who will discuss travel trends, how money is made in rural tourism and how to use the power of story in marketing culinary/ag travel.
The tour is free, and a box lunch will be sold. Friday’s workshop costs $25, which includes lunch and materials.
