Boeing stockholders want yearly pay look

Boeing stockholders have rejected a Boeing board proposal to allow stockholders to review executive compensation every three years and voted to ask the board to instead make the review a yearly event.

The stockholder advisory vote result came at the company’s annual meeting Monday in Chicago .

The board will consider the results of the advisory vote later this year, said a Boeing spokesman.

The company’s detailed proxy statement this year revealed that Boeing Co. CEO Jim McNerney earns a base salary of $1.9 million. Additional performance incentives can raise his total compensation package to $16.2 million.

Jim Albaugh, chief executive of Boeing’s Commercial Airplanes division headquartered in Tukwila, has a base salary of $980,000 annually. That can rise to $5.8 million with incentives.
