1 child, 1 adult latest to contract COVID-19 in Thurston County

A woman and a girl were the latest to contract COVID-19 in Thurston County, public health officials announced Saturday.

The next count for the county is at 3 p.m. Sunday.

The woman is in her 50s and the girl falls into the age range of 0-9, according to Thurston County Public Health and Social Services.

The two new cases now give the county a total of 112, the data show.

Ninety-nine people have either recovered or are recovering from the respiratory disease, plus one man has died, giving the county 12 active cases of COVID-19.

Of the 112 cases to date, the county has had only five cases which have afflicted those 19 or younger, the data show.

Also in the region:

Pierce County now has 1,482 cases and 52 deaths.

Lewis County is still reporting 29 cases with three deaths.

Mason County has 25 cases and one death.

Grays Harbor County is still reporting 12 cases.

During the pandemic, Washington state has reported more than 15,000 cases and 830 deaths, according to the state Department of Health.
