Joint Base Lewis-McChord will conduct day and night artillery training until 9 p.m. Thursday using M777 155mm howitzers.
Noise from the training will be most significant Tuesday and Wednesday, according to a JBLM news release.
The field artillery training is for large-unit final certification gunnery tables and will involve soldiers from 1st Battalion, 37th Field Artillery Regiment.
Given this increased training tempo at JBLM, the base plans to publicize scheduled nighttime training, as well as major training events that will result in significant noise for the surrounding community.
Queries or comments about noise may be directed to the JBLM Public Affairs Office’s External Communication Division hotline at 253-967-0852.
