Both eastbound lanes and one westbound lane of Union Avenue, between Capitol Way and Columbia Street, will be closed Friday so workers can dismantle the construction crane at the 1063 Block Replacement Project work site.
While one westbound lane of Union Avenue will remain open, there will be no parking along the street during the crane removal. Work begins about 6:30 a.m. and will take about four hours to complete.
On Saturday, the crane will be taken away from the construction site. That will require the closure of that section of Union Avenue in both directions from about 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Flaggers will be on hand both days to help manage traffic.
