The hospice program of Providence SoundHomeCare and Hospice is offering community members the opportunity to enhance a terminally ill patient’s quality of life while enriching their own.
Volunteers provide support to families, caregivers and those who are dying by offering respite for a caregiver, companionship and support for a patient who is alone, assisting with errands, being a loving presence and a compassionate listener, reading to a patient, sharing artistic skills, etc.
Training will take place over two full days plus two afternoons on Jan. 24, 27, 31 and Feb. 3, 2017.
All sessions will be at the Providence SoundHomeCare and Hospice office in Olympia.
