Ever had someone follow you so close in their car that you thought they were going to run you off the road?

Tailgaters will be the focus of the Washington State Patrol through Thursday, King5.com reports.

Tailgaters are thought to have contributed to 9,500 collisions last year.

The fine for tailgating is $136 and it rises to $187 if a driver causes a crash for following too close.
