An 87-year-old Chehalis man who had been missing since May 3 was found dead near his home, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.
Warren Neal was last seen at his home the evening of May 3 near the 100 block of Fircrest Road in Chehalis. His family reported him missing early May 5.
The Sheriff’s Office reported Neal possibly suffered from dementia. His vehicles were accounted for, but Neal was known to go on walks in a wooded area near the home.
At 5:35 p.m. May 6, search crews found Neal’s body on a trail in that wooded area.
The Sheriff’s Office and the Lewis County Coroner’s Office are investigating the cause and manner of his death. The Sheriff’s Office has asked that anyone with information pertinent to the investigation call detective Jeff Humphrey at 360-740-2738.
