Jelly LeDuc, 12, is a fourth-generation Pet Parade participant, with the family tradition dating all the way back to her great grandfather.

Jelly, whose name is short for JamiEllen, is also the featured artist for this year’s event. Her drawing, which will be featured on Pet Parade shirts and ribbons, depicts two foxes sitting back-to-back. It was inspired by this year’s theme: Beauties and Beasts.

The Olympian’s 2017 Pet Parade will take place Saturday, Aug. 19. Staging begins at 8 a.m. in Heritage Park. Judging begins at 8:30 a.m. Participants may enter any of 11 categories.

At 10 a.m., participants will parade up Fifth Avenue Southeast, turn right on Franklin Street Southeast, turn right again onto Seventh Avenue Southeast and continue to Sylvester Park, where treats and prizes will be awarded.
