A mother and daughter from Aberdeen remain hospitalized after a single-car crash Tuesday morning.
Both women were flown to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle in critical condition following the crash near State Street in Aberdeen. As of Wednesday afternoon, the mother, 51, was listed in satisfactory condition, while the daughter, 22, had been upgraded to serious condition.
According to police, the mother was driving a 1991 Honda Civic east on State Street at a high speed when the car failed to negotiate a sharp bend in the road, jumped a curb and hit a Jersey barrier. The crash vaulted the car into the air, throwing the daughter out of the car.
The car hit a fence before it stopped under a ramp to the Chehalis River Bridge.
The crash occurred at about 11 a.m.
