FORT LEWIS - On the day the Army post mourned the loss of two soldiers in Iraq, word arrived that three more soldiers have died there.
Staff Sgt. David C. Kuehl, 27, Staff Sgt. Kristopher A. Higdon, 25, and Pfc. Robert A. Worthington, 19, died Tuesday in two separate attacks when bombs exploded near them in Taji, 20 miles north of Baghdad, the Pentagon said.
Fourteen Fort Lewis soldiers have died in Iraq in less than three weeks. One-hundred-thirteen service members assigned to the Army post have died there since the war began in March 2003.

All three were infantrymen assigned to the 4th Battalion, 9th Infantry Regiment of the 4th Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division (Stryker Brigade Combat Team). Kuehl was assigned to C Company; Higdon and Worthington were part of B Company.
