What: United Way of Thurston County 2007 campaign
When: Through the holiday season
What: The goal is to raise $1.5 million, a 15 percent increase from last year's $1.3 million. Donations support 49 programs at South Sound nonprofit groups. Donations also support early-learning and financial-stability programs.
Who: Last year, more than 150 organizations ran workplace campaigns, 64 corporate gifts were given and hundreds of people outside the workplace made donations.

Where: United Way staff and volunteers make presentations, provide materials and collect gifts and pledges at work-places. Individual donations can be made online or mailed to United Way of Thurston County, 312 Fourth Ave. E., Olympia, WA 98501.
How: Employees can make gifts through payroll deduction, check or credit card or by making a gift of securities. Donors can support United Way's Community Care Fund or designate their gift to a specific organization.
