Public hearing Monday on permit for cleanup of Budd inlet
A plan to treat and discharge stormwater and groundwater to Budd Inlet during the initial cleanup and utility construction for the Port of Olympia’s East Bay redevelopment project will be the topic of a public hearing and meeting set for 6:30 to 9 p.m., Monday, at the Olympia Community Center, 222 Columbia St. N.W., Olympia.
The public can comment and ask questions about a proposed National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System permit required by the federal Clean Water Act and administered by the state Department of Ecology.
The public comment period for the permit runs through Monday.
The NPDES permit is available for review at www.ecy.wa.gov/programs/wq/permits/southwest_permits.html#E and the Olympia Timberland Library.
