EPA offers grants for ideas to protect watersheds

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is accepting proposals for $10 million in grant funding for projects that protect and restore Puget Sound watersheds.

Tribes, local governments and special-purpose districts are eligible for this round of funding.

As many as 15 projects will be funded for activities such as improving shellfish-growing areas, cleanup of contaminated sediments and restoring estuary wetlands.
