The city of Olympia has published a book called "Olympia, Washington: A People's History" that celebrates the 150th anniversary of the city's incorporation.
The book includes 26 essays by local historians about various aspects of Olympia’s history. It also includes the finalist student poems that were read at Olympia’s 150th birthday party in January, as well as photographs of events that celebrated the anniversary.
Soft-cover copies of the book sell for $35, and hard-cover copies cost $50. Proceeds benefit the nonprofit Bigelow House Museum. The book is available at the Bigelow House Museum, Drees, Olympia City Hall, The Olympia Center, Orca Books and the State Capital Museum.
