Hearings set on new flights at Paine Field

Two airlines want to start scheduled flights at Everett's Paine Field, which is best known as the home of Boeing's widebody factory.

Horizon Airlines wants to connect Everett with Portland and Spokane. Allegiant Air wants another link to Las Vegas.

Paine Field neighbors fear it could turn into a large commercial airport with increasing traffic, noise and pollution.

The Federal Aviation Administration is holding hearings on a draft environmental impact statement tonight in Everett and Jan. 21 in Lynnwood.
