A Thurston County doctor's medical license has been suspended by the Medical Quality Assurance Commission and the state Department of Health.
Sarah S. Reade cannot practice medicine in Washington until criminal charges of driving under the influence are resolved. Reade was arrested and charged in December.
According to a Health Department news release, “Reade’s behavior raised concerns about her ability to practice medicine with reasonable skill and safety due to a mental condition. Charges say she resisted arrest and threatened suicide.” Reade has a history of alcohol abuse, according to the news release. Her license was put on probation by the commission in 2005, for alcohol misuse and making false statements to a department investigator about having controlled substances without a valid prescription.
