The Tenino teenager who died in a two-car collision Sunday near Millersylvania State Park was identified as Branden K. Heinselman, according to the Washington State Patrol. Trooper Brandy Kessler confirmed Monday that his family had been notified.
Heinselman’s 1993 Toyota Tercel was headed south when it veered off the roadway to the right shoulder, Kessler said. He avoided a pole and swerved back onto the roadway and into oncoming traffic, she said.
A northbound Lexus RX 330, driven by Barbara J. Scott, 49, of Tenino struck the Tercel head-on on the passenger sides of the vehicles, she said. Scott was taken to Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia as a precaution, Kessler said
It was not known why Heinselman’s car left the roadway, Kessler said. State Patrol is investigating the crash.
