An inquest jury has been told that Maurice Clemmons was shot four times by a Seattle police officer, and that two of the wounds were fatal.
The King County jury is considering whether officer Benjamin Kelly was justified in killing Clemmons in a confrontation Dec. 1, two days after Clemmons shot and killed four Lakewood police officers in Parkland.
The Seattle Times reported that Aldo Fusaro of the King County Medical Examiner’s Office testified Tuesday that Clemmons was hit in the back, chest, arm and thigh. He also was shot in the abdomen by one of the Lakewood officers.
Fusaro was the final witness before the case went to the jury. Jurors did not reach a verdict and planed to resume deliberations today.
