TUMWATER: Learn how to build rain garden

A free homeowner's workshop about how to build a rain garden is set for 6:30 to 8:45 p.m. Thursday at the Tumwater Fire Hall, 311 Israel Road S.W.

Participants will learn how to create a low-maintenance feature to keep stormwater drainage away from the home while providing habitat for birds and butterflies, according to a news release.

The workshop is free, but registration is required by contacting the WSU Native Plant Salvage Project at nativeplantsalvage@gmail.com or 360-867-2166.
