The following overnight Interstate 5 closures can be expected in Thurston and Pierce counties.
Through Thursday: Lanes closed from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. on northbound I-5, between Martin Way in Lacey and the Nisqually River Bridge, and on southbound I-5, between 48th Street in Tacoma and Gravelly Lake Drive in Lakewood.
Drivers can expect delays this weekend during an extended lane closure on southbound I-5, between 48th Street in Tacoma and Gravelly Lake Drive in Lakewood. Crews will close three lanes on southbound I-5 from 7 p.m. Friday to 11 a.m. Saturday, and from 7 p.m. Saturday to noon Sunday.
I-5, GRAND MOUND TO MAYTOWN
This week, embankment work and construction of bridge shafts take place at Grand Mound and Prairie Creek. Bridge work continues at Scatter Creek and Maytown. Crews will also install detection loops throughout the project limits.
• Weather-dependent, single-lane closures in both directions of I-5 throughout the project limits from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly.
• Rolling slowdowns southbound I-5 from 6 to 10 a.m. and northbound I-5 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
• Motorists traveling state Route 121 at the I-5 interchange will encounter flagger-controlled, one-way alternating traffic from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.
