EVERSON - A two-year-old girl was killed Friday afternoon, July 23, when a pickup truck struck her while backing out of a driveway on the Nooksack Indian Reservation.
The accident occurred at about 4:15 p.m. in the 2500 block of Sulwhanon Drive, according to the Washington State Patrol.
The girl's identity has not been released.
The truck's driver told children who were playing near the driveway to move out of the way because the truck was going to be backing out, according to statements residents made to troopers at the scene, Trooper Keith Leary wrote in an e-mail.
