Officials and residents of Washington’s Island County cut the ribbon Wednesday on a new bridge linking Stanwood to Camano Island.
The bridge, which will open to traffic Friday, replaces a 60-year-old structure that is the only way on and off the island in northwest Washington. The bridge is part of a larger, $84 million project to improve a 10-mile stretch of State Route 532.
