Gig Harbor woman, 18, critically injured after car accident Tuesday

An 18-year-old Gig Harbor woman was ejected from a Toyota 4-runner sport utility vehicle near Camp Easter Seal in Vaughn early Tuesday morning.

Key Peninsula Fire Department medics responded about 3 a.m. and transported the woman to a Tacoma trauma center with critical injuries.

The woman was found unconscious with a compound leg fracture.

The 19-year-old male driver, who was standing on his own, was transported by a mutual aid ambulance that responded from the Gig Harbor Fire Department to the same hospital.

The accident is being investigated by Pierce County Sheriff’s deputies.
