A 16-year-old Puyallup boy died Saturday after the all-terrain vehicle he was riding in Oregon rolled over on top of him, according to the Washington County, Ore., Sheriff's Office.
Louie Hertel was visiting family and helping with farm work over the last few weeks. He took a four-wheel-drive ATV out for a drive and apparently hit some large tire ruts that were hidden in tall grass, rolling the ATV until it came to rest on top of him.
He was able to call 911 just after 3 p.m. and ask for help, telling a dispatcher that “he was injured all over,” investigators said.
The cell phone connection was then dropped.

Emergency responders rushed to the rural area but were unable to immediately locate him.
After a short search, investigators said they found Louie trapped under the ATV, a Yamaha Rhino 450.
Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.
