Mount Vernon man accused of I-5 rock-throwing

MOUNT VERNON – Police are checking whether a man accused of throwing a rock at a car on Interstate 5 in Mount Vernon could be responsible for rocks thrown from bridges earlier this summer in Pierce County.

Lt. Chris Cammock of the Mount Vernon Police Department said the 33-yearold man arrested Thursday night lives within a mile of the overpass where a softball-size rock hit the hood of a car. The two people inside were not injured.

Cammock said the man’s motive was unknown.
