Burglar suspected in 2 coffee stand break-ins

Gig Harbor police are trying to identify a burglar who hit two coffee stands within 3 ½ hours last week.

The burglar hit the Williams Patrick Coffee stand on Judson Street in downtown Gig Harbor and the Harbor Hill Coffee stand on Borgen Boulevard between 12:30 and 4 a.m. Sept. 27. In both cases, he used a pry bar to open a sliding window and then stole cash and fled, police reported.

The burglar is described as white, 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches and 180 to 200 pounds. He wore a dark knit-type cap, dark sweatshirt, dark two-toned gloves with white letters on the back side, blue jeans and tennis shoes, police reported. Investigators suspect he might be driving a dark sedan.

Tacoma-Pierce County Crime Stoppers released surveillance images of the burglary Wednesday and is offering up to $1,000 for information leading to his arrest and charges filed.
