As work on Littlerock Road in Tumwater reaches Trosper Road and Skipper Lane, contractors are changing their work times beginning today.
Construction will now take place between 8 a.m.-5 p.m. on a five-day-per-week schedule, with additional night work to reduce daytime backups, according to a news release.
Work scheduled for the next two weeks includes:
• Topsoil and sod planter strips from Odegard north.
• Median curbs north and south of Kingswood Drive. Once curbs are installed, street light conduit and irrigation will be installed.
• Fiber optic conduit along the west side from the south Costco entrance to Trosper Road.
• Road base from the Kingswood roundabout to the south entrance to Costco.
Upon completion, the mile-long section between Odegard Road and the new Kingswood roundabout will include an additional travel lane and bicycle lanes in each direction, a center median, sidewalks, landscaping and storm drainage. There will be two lanes in each direction from Kingswood to the south entrance of Costco.
Pavement will be removed and replaced from Costco to Trosper Road. Second Avenue also will be widened to provide an additional southbound lane through the intersection to Littlerock. Trosper also will be widened at Skipper Lane.
The contractor is scheduled to have the first lift of asphalt completed on the mile-long stretch of forad by the end of October, according to the city. Completion of the final lift is dependent on the weather and could be delayed into early next year.
