Seven people were arrested and 1,700 marijuana plants, cash and vehicles were seized Thursday as part of a federal investigation into pot-growing operations in Pierce and King counties.
Agents from the federal Drug Enforcement Administration and the Port of Seattle, Kent, Tukwila, Auburn, Federal Way, Renton and Seattle police departments served search warrants on buildings, homes and vehicles, the Seattle office of the DEA reported Friday.
Eight warrants were served in King County and two in Pierce County.
The officers, part of a DEA task force, searched 10 buildings and homes and 12 vehicles, the agency reported. They arrested five men and two women on drug-related charges.
The investigation was ongoing.
