FEDERAL WAY: Hit-and-run victim upgraded to serious

The medical condition of a 52-year-old man who was struck by a hit-and-run vehicle early Sunday in Federal Way has been upgraded to serious, Federal Way police said Monday.

The victim, who is being treated at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, suffered several broken bones and is expected to recover, police spokeswoman Cathy Schrock said.

A passerby called 911 about 1:40 a.m. to report an injured man lying in the roadway in the 400 block of Southwest 312th Street. The driver of the vehicle that hit the man was no longer there, police said.

Investigators are trying to reconstruct the incident but have no witnesses, suspects or vehicle descriptions, Schrock said. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 253-852-2121.
