KENT: Death of woman, 45, believed a homicide

Kent police are investigating as a homicide the death of a 45-year-old woman found Tuesday inside her apartment.

Officials have not released the victim’s name or cause of death.

After not being able to reach the woman via telephone for two days, a family friend stopped by her apartment in the 25000 block of 109th Avenue Southeast about 10:20 a.m. and found the door ajar.

“There was very clear evidence of violence inside the apartment,” police Lt. Pat Lowery said.

The victim lived alone at The Village at Lake Meridian Apartments.

Investigators were interviewing the victim’s friends and family to determine a possible suspect or motive.
