Holiday closures

The New Year's Day holiday on Saturday means changes in some schedules and services.

Post offices will be open today, but most will have a revised schedule. All post offices will be closed and no mail will be delivered on New Year’s Day.

Banks and credit unions will be closed New Year’s Day.

Most federal and state offices will be closed Saturday.

All state-run liquor stores will be open 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. today. State liquor stores will be closed Saturday. Contract liquor stores may be open today and Saturday. Contact contract stores directly for schedules.

County and city offices will be closed today and Saturday.

Department of Licensing headquarters will be closed today and Saturday. The Lacey office will be closed Saturday.

Port of Olympia offices will be closed.

Area school districts will be on winter break.

The Evergreen State College, Saint Martin’s University and South Puget Sound Community College will be on winter break.

All Timberland Regional Library branches will be closed Saturday.

The Olympian’s customer-service desk will be closed today. For circulation questions, call 800-905-0296.

Olympia’s residential and commercial garbage will be collected, but crews may arrive earlier than usual.

Pacific Disposal garbage-collection agency will not provide services Saturday.
