A Kent man charged with driving under the influence was ordered held on $80,000 bail Wednesday after being arrested on suspicion of a second DUI and appearing in court intoxicated.
Somphong Phiengkham was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence in May. Bail was set at $5,000, and Phiengkham bonded out later that day.
When he appeared in court Jan. 26, the judge noticed that Phiengkham smelled of alcohol and showed signs of intoxication. The judge ordered him jailed for violating the conditions of his release.
On Saturday, Washington State Patrol troopers found him in a vehicle on Interstate 405 blocking southbound traffic. He was arrested again.
Bail on Wednesday first was ordered at $30,000 for his latest DUI arrest, but the judge added another $50,000 bail for violating the conditions of his release.
Kent police said Phiengkham still was in custody late Wednesday.
