An international potluck to celebrate the 50th birthday of the Peace Corps is set for 12:30 to 3 p.m. Sunday in the Longhouse at The Evergreen State College, 2700 Evergreen Parkway N.W., Olympia. The event is open to the public.
Attendees are asked to bring an international dish to share, as well their own reusable plates and utensils. Former Peace Corps volunteers are encouraged to wear attire from their country of service.
Al Guskin, former chancellor of Antioch University and a member of the first Peace Corps group to Thailand, and Robert Textor, who developed original training material used by the Peace Corps, will share their memories at the event.
