Thurston County is recognizing citizens this week who have been registered to vote for 50 years anywhere in the United States.
Thurston County Auditor Kim Wyman has announced the Civic Pride Honor Society, a way for the county to highlight longtime voters. Ceremonies this month are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Sequoia Village Assisted Living, 825 Lilly Road N.E. in Olympia and 2 p.m. May 19 at the Panorama City Auditorium, 1670 Circle Loop in Lacey, according to a news release.
Wyman said the county will hold similar ceremonies at retirement and senior centers throughout the year.
