Secretary of State Sam Reed is set to speak about his long history in the politics of Thurston County at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday during the monthly lunch meeting of the Thurston County Republican Women's Club. He also will receive a lifetime achievement award from the Thurston Republican Party.
The event is at Hawks Prairie Restaurant, 8306 Quinault Drive N.E., Lacey, and is open to the public. County Republican chairman John O’Callaghan will formally present Reed with the award, which was announced in February at the party’s local Lincoln Day dinner.
Reed is in his third term as secretary of state after serving about two decades as Thurston County auditor.
